
Although the goal here is to post images that I have taken, and a commentary on what I like to point my camera at, this first image was not taken by me. I think there is something classic about this image. It seems a modern take on Vermeer's "Girl with a Pearl Earring." The subject is gazing at something off the canvas, lips slightly parted. She is placid but attentive. I generally do not take portraits, though this image makes me think that I should. In many ways, this image is not at all representative of what I tend to photograph.
